We are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.”
“We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us;

a hard saying by C.S. Lewis.

I wondered what he’s feeling when he said that?

my impression LucyLu is that he is strangely giving credence to fear(s) within his mind and even doubts about God’s care over his life because in using that word ‘wondering’ I can’t help but think C.S. Lewis is ‘wavering’ in his faith toward God, perhaps letting his shield of faith down for a moment thus exposing his heart to danger.
